Software information

This software is WHR-G300N Ver.1.82.
This software is a firmware for WHR-G300N (Ver.1.82). This firmware can be only applied for the model indicated as [WHR-G300N V2] in the MODEL field on the label attached on the back of the unit.
Do not use it for other products.



* Caution *
Once you apply the firmware Ver1.82, you cannot downgrade to Ver1.80 or earlier.
Please understand this limitation.

Minimum Requirement


How to update the firmware

Connecting AirStation and computer individually by wired LAN is recommended for firmware update.

  1. Start up Windows.

  2. Please confirm both LAN adapter and AirStation's IP address exist same network segment. Refer to User Manual for IP address setting.

  3. Select [Run] from Start Menu.
    Enter "http://192.168.11.1/" (AirStation's LAN side IP address) in the field and click "OK" button.
    Enter "root" for user name and keep the password field blank when login prompt appears. Enter proper password if password is configured.

  4. Click "Update AirStation Firmware" from top screen.


  5. Click "Browse" button on the right side of "Firmware File Name" then select extracted firmware file, whrg300nv2-*** (*** depends on firmware version.) and click "Update Firmware".


  6. The DIAG LED flashes 6 minutes during firmware update. The LED turns off after firmware update.
    * Do not turn the AirStation off when firmware update is performed. (Flashing DIAG LED) It causes malfunction the unit.

  1. Please refer to above How to update the firmware 1 to 3 steps to open setup screen.

  2. Please click "Diagnostic" tab from top screen to see System Information.

  3. Confirm Model name is "WHR-G300N Ver.1.82".

[New feature]
  1. Added online update for the firmware.
  2. Added the setting to ban to connect from any devices other than game machine by WEP connection while using AOSS.
    Set "Dedicate WEP for game only" on AOSS configuration screen.
[Bug fix]
  1. Fix the problem that Multi security did not work or AOSS connection failed when MAC address starts with other than 00.
  2. Fix the problem that the communication was disconnected when establishing the communication among 3 of AirStation.
  3. Fix the problem that incorrect connection destination information was created if AOSS connection failed when creating connection destination among AirStation by AOSS.

  10. Fix the problem that configuration may not work depending on the timing pressing AOSS button on Web Configuration screen.
  11. Fix the problem that connection may fail when multiple wireless LAN slaves of WPA-PSK try to connect simultaneously.
  12. Fix the problem that key update tends to fail if wireless LAN slave is connected in heavy loaded.
  13. Fix the problem that time synchronization with NTP server was sometimes failed when specifying the NTP server by its name.
  14. Fix the problem that AirStation could not be accessed if the assigned address of the DHCP server was changed and that causes it was considered multiply logged in.
  15. Fix the problem that default SSID was overwritten when recovering the system by using the configuration file of other device.
  16. Fix the problem that the connection was easily disconnected when communication was established between WZR-HP-G300NH and AirStation.

[Bug fix]
  1. Fix the problem that the AirStation was rarely rebooted when the communication among AirStation was heavy loaded.
  2. Fix the problem that Master AirStation was sometimes rebooted when communication went back and forth between Master AirStation and Slave AirStation.
  3. Fix the problem that the connection of the wireless LAN slave in power save mode was sometimes disconnected.
  4. Fix the problem that AirStation did not work for a while after the multicast snooping rebooted the AirStation.
  5. Fix the problem that it sometimes takes time to obtain the IP address after the router is connected to a computer with the wired LAN.
  6. Fix the problem that changing the connection to AirStation during WDS may sometimes stop transmit data.
